God wants us to be like him. To be like him not a clone but to be like him perfect in every way. Aside from being like him, God has adopted us as sons so that we can be with him.

When scripture says that we are adopted as sons, it means that we are entitled to what our Father owns. It does not discriminate for or against men and women. Both are equal in the sight of God.

You are given an inheritance. You own what he owns. Aside from that, you become the head or ruler of his family with full rights and authority in society. Also, to be called a son of God is to be called the same way as Jesus was called the Son of God.

To be a son of God means to be like Jesus.
